The Toyota Vios is one of the most common cars in Malaysia, which mean most people simply do not value the car. Being a 5 year old car from this owner, he finally decided that the car needed a revival. Read on to find out how horrible is a 5 year old maintained only by road side washes.

Upon arrival, we immediately were able spot some severe damages.

They were all basically around the car.

Because the car was washed earlier, it was pretty clean and easy to spot for damages.

The sun was out so, sun shot reveals the true condition of the paint.

More paint scuffs.

The fuel door area was surprisingly clean for its age.

Merely a little stain.

Moving on to spotlight swirl spotting.

Visible swirls on silver/light grey toned colours might not be visible but we still try to spot it all.

Swirls on the doors.

The interior was in pretty dull shape. The owner also mentioned he spilled coconut water a few years back and it has stained that spot for a long time.

The seats were greasy and stained.

You can obviously spot the dark leather patterns.

Steering was glossy and greasy.

B Pillar plastic panels were stained.

We first dealt with the seats. Here is a 50/50. Cleaned (left) Dirty (right)

B pillars were cleaned and restored.

Remember greasy seats, Before.

After cleaning.

As for the coconut water stain, this was the maximum we could clean and restore.

As usual, the glass is covered in watermark.

Rear windscreen was the most severe part of the watermark build up.

After removal of the watermark build up.

We cleaned every area of the car including the fuel cover.

After the wash, we can obviously see that the surface has no protection.

Paint surface corrected.

On other areas, we achieved a swirls free surface as well. Surprisingly we were able to restore most of to a swirl free condition.

Finally, after 2 days or more than 20hours working of the car. We protected the car with Opti-Coat™Pro and check out the finishing.

Sighting of the bug eyes is already rare but making it a S202 makes it next level! Here we have with us the perfect combo, Black, Boxer, All Original, Fully stock, S202, what more can a car enthusiast as for!? But looks can be deceiving. Read on to find out.

Upon arrival, we did the standard routine check up, she was in pretty bad shape. But being more than 10 years old, its was considerably normal to be this condition.

First thing we noticed was a severe watermark condition on every single panel of the car.

Some wax residue or polish residue was spotted around the STI emblem.

And also the S202 chrome emblem.

The factory carbon fiber GT Wing was also covered in watermarks.

Even the inner fuel cap area had watermark issues. Apparently, rust problems were quite common for the fuel area.

The fuel tank door was semi-oxidized.

Coming to the swirl and scratches, we found the surface to be 100% covered in them.

Some areas had lesser swirls some area had more.

Some areas were severely covered in thick watermark build up.

Some areas had visibly less watermarks.

Rear boot lid had the least watermark build up.

Unknown stains that is so hardened it felt like cement.

Well, basically what you see on this photo is how the entire car looks like up close.

and finally, the road grime.

The car’s factory wheels were STI engraved Volks CE28 but they were brake dust covered

Closer look on brake dust rust being almost the same colour as the bronze wheels.

1 swipe, revealing how the original colour should look like.

We started with a good old detailed wash, clay bar turned brown after 1 panel.

After the wash, we started by disassembling parts that might block my way.

Including the carbon fiber GT Wing.

The car looks pretty good from a distance after a good wash but we all know once you move closer…

First, we tackled the watermark build up. This is the before.

After clearing off the watermarks.

Haziness before.

50/50 on the same spot.

After removing the first layer of contamination, its time for us to move in depth for the swirls.

Before.

After.

Before.

After.

Haziness before.

Restored.

We got to be really honest, we were unable to restore the paint to a 100% or even a 90% state like we usually do. Mainly because the surface was already very much damaged. Being the original paint, it was the best that we could have done. So the surface still had minimal swirls but 100% watermark free.

We have with us a Mercedes GLC brand new from the dealership. The owner of the car brought the car back from the dealership and parked it till we got here a few days later. That’s how much car lovers love their cars! No further delays, check out what we did.

Upon arrival, we did the routine walk around to check for obvious damages.

It was really sandy!

As we moved to the paint surface, severely watermarks can be seen.

Some leftover glue marks from the protective wrappers.

More hardened glue marks.

Some lighter glue stains that we almost missed.

The edges of the side sill were covered in stains as well.

The sun was shining onto the hood, so we check on the surface condition.

Well, there was no swirls or scratches on the paint

Fuel cap areas for a brand new car?

Still pretty dirty!

First we clean up the hidden areas.

Then we worked on these areas to bring them to a clean state.

Then we removed the glue stains and harden glue marks.

We then gave the paint a light polish to remove watermark build up.

Checking under the sun again to double confirm.

The surface was cleared of all watermark build up.

Restoring the surface to a clean condition, the car is now ready to be coated.

The wheels were not exactly dull, just dirty.

A closer look of the brake dust build up from merely 1 drive.

Lug nuts areas were not neglected in the process.

Spokes are cleaned thoroughly

and Finally, the wheels were coated for maximum protection and shine.

It was not a major or serious condition to work on, so we spent about 6hours restoring this huge SUV and finally topping it all up with our Opti-Coat™Pro. Check out the gloss and shine.
