What is Optimum Coating
Optimum Coating is a permanent coating that protects automotive paint over its lifetime! Unlike a wax or sealant, Optimum Coating will not wash or wear off. It acts as a second layer of clear coat which provides increased protection against the elements.

Optimum Coating is a clear resin coating, much like the clear coat that already exists on your vehicle. And just like your factory clear coat, Optimum Coating is meant to be permanent! Optimum Coating can be applied to all exterior surfaces. For other exterior surfaces, Optimum Coating is a highly effective, transparent protective coating. Unlike Taflon, Polymer, Glass, Diamond, Nano or other coatings, Optimum Coating is the only paint bonding coating which becomes a part of the existing clear coat. This will prevent peeling or degrading in any form.

Here we can see the different category and characteristics of the coatings in the market.

What are that are the surfaces that Optimum Coating can be applied onto?
● Painted Surfaces of the vehicle
● Headlights and Taillights of the vehicle
● Alloy or Light Weight Sport Rims
● Plastic, Polyurethane Surfaces
● Aluminum and Chrome Surfaces
● Sticker and Decal surfaces
● Front and Rear Windscreen and other side windows
● Panoramic roof for some cars
● Sun roof for some cars

*Please Note that the consumer version of Optimum Coating named Opti-Coat 2.0 does not bond with glass, panoramic roofs, sunroofs. Although it does bond with Alloy Rims, Sticker, Decals and Plastic surfaces it does not last long like the Professional Optimum Coating.

How Do we apply Optimum Coating/Opti-Guard?
Optimum Coating is a permanent coating that requires the paint to be finished properly before any application is done. Any blemishes or contamination on the paint will be permanently stuck under the coating if not removed prior application. On a professionally prepared paint finish, Optimum Coating will look clear, smooth, and clean.

How Does Optimum Coating Protects the Factory paint?
A single layer of Optimum clear coat measures approximately 2 microns in thickness. Compared to other “paint protection” sealants, Opti-Coat is more than 100 times thicker with tests showing a wax coating measuring less than 0.02 microns.
This allows Opti-Coat to effectively absorb damage that would otherwise affect the factory paint layers. Swirl marks, light scratches, chemical etching is not only decreased by the harder clear coating, but the factory paint is protected by the thick outer Optimum coating.

What are the effects of Optimum Coating that can be seen with the naked eye?
As Optimum Coating bonds and cures with the factory clear coat, you will be able to see a higher definition in gloss and shine. The touch felt on the surface after a fully cured Opti-Coated surface is rather tacky as the coating is providing a water beading or “Lotus Effect” on the paint’s surface.

You may view in this video What is Lotus Effect on Car Paint.

What are the benefits of applying Opti-Coat to my car?
Opti-Coat will provide the owner with a superior clear coat film that is highly resistant to chemical etching, harder than factory clear coat to reduce swirls and scratches, and a permanent hydrophobic surface that is easier to clean and stays cleaner for longer.

Can I buy Opti-Coat and apply it myself?
No. Opti-Coat is available only to selected professionals. Application requires an experienced technician to avoid extensive damage to the factory paintwork.

How long does it take to apply Opti-Coat to my car?
The application of Opti-Coat itself may take only 1-2 hours. Preparation required beforehand may take an additional 1-2 hours. Depending on the condition of the car, used cars in particular, preparation including swirl removal may take a number of hours. The main thing is the curing period of the coating takes at least 6 hours. It is recommended to not have any contact to water or any liquid based substance.

Can I apply waxes and sealants or polish and Opti-Coated car?
Yes, you can apply additional waxes/sealants to the surface although it is not required. Opti-Coat once applied, becomes a permanent part of your vehicles paint system. Applying a wax or sealant on top of the Opti-Coat is no different to applying to factory clear coats. A NON ABRASIVE polish/paint cleaner can also be used to polish the vehicle. Unlike other paint protection systems that void the warranty, polishing away any contamination will actually enhance the performance of Opti-Coat!

Differences between Opti-Coat 2.0 and Opti-Guard
Opti-Coat 2.0 a consumer version of the Professional Optimum Coating AKA Opti-Guard. The main difference will be the durability, thickness and the definition of gloss and shine. Most people may compare Optimum Coating with many other coatings in the market but by experience we have with Optimum Coating, we are proud to say we have no receive any complains regarding quality of the coating compared to other coating which may have more problems with stains from bird dropping
The differences can be seen in the table below.

Will Optimum Coating work on single staged old school paint?
Yes, Optimum Coating will work on single stage paint

How is the durability in Malaysian weather?
I would say the durability is rather suprising for Optimum Coating. We have found that many coating cannot withstand the heat hence degrade too fast. Optimum Coating on the other hand is developed in the rather hot section of the US which captures all the main component of Malaysian weather.

Since Opti-Coat 2.0 is the consumer version, Can I purchase the coating and DIY?
Yes you may purchase the coating but we do not sell and we do not perform coating application for Opti-Coat 2.0 as we found that its quality is not up to par with the Optimum Coating AKA Opti-Guard. We only choose the best for our customers and we do not want our quality of work to drop.

Price for Optimum Coating:
RM2000 for small sized vehicles from Perodua Kancil, Perodua Myvi, VW Polo
