We travel our way to Penang Island for this sweet ride over the weekend. Brand new and fresh from the oven, the owner couldn’t wait to get it fully protected. Unfortunately, the surface condition was not as “New” as he expected. Read on and find out how bad it is.

Upon arrival, the routine walk around inspection was done, overall the car just looks dirty and needed a wash. But that’s the thing with white colour cars.

The surface was covered in rain stains, dust and sand.

The typical road grime after a week of driving.

We also found some light watermark issues on the paint surface.

One of the panel was exposed to the sun, we found severe hologram issues on the paint.

Next we moved to another panel with the LED Check Light

More hologram found on other sections.

These poor post delivery is destroying car paints from the dealership.

some areas had lighter holograms.

We found a tree sap stain that was bonded to the paint as well. This is why we recommend our clients to avoid parking under a tree.

Moving to the paint correction, we did a detailed wash for the car. Areas like these were not spared.

Moving to the paint correction, Hologram damage before.

Hologram damage after.

Hologram damage before. (Notice a yellowish spot, that is another tree sap stain)

Hologram damage after. We tried to remove the tree sap stain as well but only managed to reduce it.

Paint restored to damage free condition.

The paint is near flawless after the paint correction stage, its ready to be coated now.

After about 6hours of restoration and cleaning, our finally applied the Opti-Coat™Pro to the paint. Check out how it turns out.

We had always believe that by maintain our finishing standards, our Zero Compromising Policy, we had nothing to fear. But this time round, we were scared shitless. We received a request from this client that had his car worked on by a well known detailing, so well know that the company is in many famous automotive forums. zerotohundred, lowyat, bmw owner forums and many more. We were scared shitless when we were appointed to work on a car that had undergone his so called “god hands” We were once mislead by his gospel and worshiped his Godlike skills like many other disciples. The tension is ON! Stress Level is high! Like he always say “Show me your work” Now we show you ours.

No bullshitting on how the car looks upon arrival, we go straight to how the paint looks. The car had been worked on just recently as the owner mentioned. I am not surprised that there is some small amount of scratches around since its a daily driven car.

What we would not stand was this. Upon putting the car right under the sun, we saw an entire section affected by hologram damage.

Holograms are the basic damage to remove for any detailer, not mentioned its a “Master” of Detailers? You be the judge.

As a professional, we could not tolerate slacking on the work to this level and still having the client pay for it. We DO NOT slack, we DO NOT compromise. We briefed the client about the condition on the paint and how we are going to deal with it. The client’s expression was disappointment on the previous “Detailer”. We moved on to fixing the damage.

We proceed to polishing and finishing the “unfinished” work from previous hands.

The light source is the sun itself.

On LED.

No longer any visible damage on the paint.

The leather was a mess and we as professional could not let it go by. We gave the leather a clean up and leather conditioning after. Check out the Before (Left) and After (Right)

We are not pointing fingers at the skill level, but the basic fundamentals of detailing is to produce quality finishing. It may not be possible to produce a flawless finish every time but we try. Holograms on a finished car is a sign of not even trying. Finally, we coated the car with our in-house Glass Coating due to budget restrains on the owner. If only he had approached us earlier and not WASTED his money on a “Master” detailer, he might have applied Opti-Coat™Pro instead. Not wasting further time, check out the results. Taken all with just a phone camera, unedited, raw and real.

This Mazda owner had approached us since the car was new but because of his busy schedule, the car was not really cared for and also there was just no time for us to come over and get the paint protection from Day 1 of ownership. Finally after months of planning, we were able to setup a date where the owner is free of all work and get the car protected. It had been 6 months since new.

We expected some bad paint surface upon arrival since it had Zero Protection since Day 1.

The routine walk around was performed to check for obvious paint damages.

To be honest, metallic colours are really good at hiding damages. Swirls and Scratches are next to invisible when in shade. You would not expect such amount of paint damage on this car if we didn’t document it.

The first obvious paint damage we spotted was on the front bumper, this was a motorbike scrape.

Scratched from unknown source on the rear bumper area.

Of course some typical signs of daily usage.

We noticed some obvious hologram damage (damage from improper polishing) when the sun shined on this area.

Moving to some more in depth paint damage inspection. The LED check light is utilized.

Some obvious holograms were spotted on the side panels and on the hood. We also noticed some haziness on the paint.

Swirls from the regular washing

More swirls on the hood.

Hologram on doors.

We spotted a weird stain on the paint as well. Texture felt like a matte surface.

We did some intense, deep clean and detailing in the washing stage. Unfortunately, there was nothing special to document. After that, we continued on with the paint restoration. We first attacked the obvious damages.

A closer view of the deep scratch with LED.

The scratch was visible even under the Sun

After the paint correction, the scratch is obviously gone.

A closer look with LED to make sure the scratch is fully restored.

No visible scratch or indentation on the paint.

Moving to the next obvious paint damage on the bumper. Before restoration.

After restoration. Although the scratch is gone but there is some permanent damage on the edges. The plastic trim could not be restored as well.

LED indicated the scratch is fully restored. The edge of the paint shows the permanent damage that we could not restore.

Now we tackled the hidden paint damages most consumer do not know about. Hologram damage before.

Here is how it looks after restoration.

The wheels were just dirty in the beginning.

It was obvious the wheels just bling-ed up.

Finally after many hours, we finished the car with a generous coat of Opti-Coat™Pro on all the painted panels, plastic trims, chrome, headlights, taillights, wheels, exhaust tips and all glass panels. Check out the glossy finish.
