Upon arrival, we already expected the car to be in harsh unloved condition. Looking at the car, we noticed the owner had 3 big, full grown, hyper active German shepherds. That, would be the highlight of our session.

The usual walk around found us some pretty interesting paint damage. As amazing as it sound, these are aircond water stains.

Owner briefs us that the car is pretty under utilized. Parked under the shade most of the time. Hence the dusty surface.

If you say its glossy, its not. If you say its shiny, we’ll say its a little dull.

We spotted some dog scratches.

More dog scratches.

Some unknown mark that had been stained to the paint.

Swirl damage.

More swirl damage.

Some severe watermark spots.

Swirls on the roof.

As we washed the car, we felt that the surface was really rough. We’re usually right.

We clayed the entire car. The photo shown is merely from 1 door.

Final finishing on the paint.

For wheels of this age, we wouldn’t expect much from it.

Closer reveals some brake dust stains.

The colour difference.

Wheels after cleaning.

Some marks were too severely stained.

After countless hours of detailing and paint correction. Here’s the results.

So, Since our last makeover, the owner was quite please with our with and decided to book us for the wife’s car. This is a 3 year old under utilized Mazda 6 but of course, it was poorly maintained as well. Else there won’t be a post like this for us to write about.

From the walk around we find the car to be rather “shiny” in its natural habitat.
as we investigate closer, we found some watermark issues on the paint.

Reflection wasn’t really reflecting nicely.

There were some tar spot issues on the lower panels as usual.

The common rain stains were visible as well. Not from far but from a nearer view.

Although its not very visible on photo but swirls existed.

The haze reflection from the LED lighting indicated some oxidation forming

Its only extremely visible when shot in a pitch black condition hence this is what we can show at the moment.

Coming to some deep scratches on the hood.

We washed the car as usual and also took the trim cleaning very seriously.

Being a 3 year old car, we expected this area to be heavily stained.

and we were right!

There were also some rust build up.

We did some test spots to brighten up the paint. The small spot on the left is a shrapnel of the polishing pad sponge.

The colour difference is major!

After some paint correction, the clarity is restore and the colour of the car immediately darkens into a wet look.

Pre-Coating shot shows a much reflective and well prepared surface.

As for these 3 years old wheels. It was the usual day to day road grime.

The colour of the tires shows an obvious “never been scrubbed” condition.

The brake dust build up is not extreme.

As usual areas like these are skipped during the normal washing routines.

The scrubbing begins. But unfortunately we forgot the Afters…

The glass was quite heavily stained as the car is usually parked outdoors.

After washing we can obviously see the watermark islands.

On the left, watermark stained the entire glass. On the right, a fully treated glass panel.

A closer look after the glass has fully dried up. No visible watermark.

Finally, after coating, the results were quite pleasing. Wet look achieved.

Upon arrival, we had already expected a long day. This Honda Accord was inspected beforehand. The car is 1 year old but fully maintained by a “so called detailer” around the owner’s area. They even guaranteed a 100% recovery for the paint after seeing its damages. You be the judge.

Since it rained in the morning, its obvious that the paint does not have any sort of protection left.

The first kind of damage we spotted around the car was these, they were all over the car, a sudden patch of haziness.

Another hazy spot.

Under the natural light, it is very obvious that the car had been sent to a paint shop and the paint shop finishing was a nightmare.

The direction of the scratches from the G6 compound used by paint shops.

Other than that, we also spotted some severe watermark etching.

Door handle bowls were also heavily scratched.

Now a view with proper lighting.

Extremely scratched up.

Some areas which were not repainted was slightly better.

Now for the paint correction procedure. Obviously, we did the standard washing, claying, stain removals and tar removal.
We corrected a section of the hood, check out the obvious difference in colour and depth.

The corrected section is very obvious.

We also did a test panel on one of the repainted panel.

This is a repainted panel. Before.

After paint correction on the same panel.

After know how the paint reactions to the paint correction system we use, we started the paint correction.
This is a Before indication of the swirl amount.

After 1 pass, we spotted some leftover deeper RIDS (random isolated deep scratches)

1 more pass to clear it up.

Other areas.

Side door panels.

Some damages were too severe, even after a few passes the damage cannot be removed fully.

The general condition after paint correction went on for 10hours.

We did a total makeover for the paint and now it looks like a bright star in the sky.

More after correction.

This is how the reflection looks like after paint correction.

We’re packing up for the day and continuing tomorrow.

Due to limited time, we didn’t document the wheels but here is am after shot.
Total Bling.

Entire procedure took 2 days, timed around, 17hours. Check out the results.
