We have with us an Edition 1: AMG and after the hot cake A45 this is next on the list. The GLA45 AMG, its such a brutal, bad ass, monstrous looking machine. Here in with us today to get some “aerodynamic improvement” on the smoothness of the paint job.
In some cases the client’s sent the car over to us. So, upon arrival, the only thing we did was let the car cool down.
As it was cooling down, we took the opportunity to walk around the car to check for obvious damages.
Just in case we forget, It is an Edition 1 but the owner decided that the decals were abit too lame for his liking hence he removed them.
The first thing we see was the usual dirt from rain that is very common for hatchback cars, the back is always dirty.
and we mean, real dirty.
Popped the fuel door and it is still…
Correct, Dirty.
It may look white but just a slide of a finger will reveal how dirty is the car.
We checked the paint for any visible swirls or damages. There was a minimal amount of damages.
But for the stains around the car, its unbearable. Chrome exhaust tips are dirty and oxidized.
Hence, we started with the regular wash. It was not enought, then we did another round of the regular wash.
After washing, we polished the exhaust tips. Left: Before and Right: After.
Before.
After. All thanks for Mother’s Mag and Aluminum Polish.
Remember we said the owner removed the decal? Here’s the aftermath.
We noticed some rust marks after we completed the wash. Most probably from brake particles.
So, we brought out the big guns, Iron X and Sonax Full Effect.
Iron X and Sonax Full Effect couldn’t do a full removal.
So, we had to do it the manual way.
After claying the remaining stains. The paint is restored.
Since we had clay the car, it had done some micro marring all over the affected areas. Hence we did a polish to remove the marring as well.
Paint condition after all the treatments. Its ready.
The wheels were originally in matte black. Bonus 50hp from the added red stripe.
A closer look reveals the factory marking stickers and the dirt.
Check out whats underneath.
After individually treating and cleaning the wheels.
and the wheel barrel.
Before we shower you with much glossy photo with all only natural lighting, take a look, who came to visit.
and here’s the gloss

First, we would like to apologize for the long wait since the last article. We had been very occupied with clients. Since we are kick starting the first come back article, here is a BMW F10 5 series that we couldn’t really forget. All the way at Ipoh,Perak, we traveled just to get this ride detailed and coated. Check it out.
Like we always say, looks can be deceiving when it comes to black cars. The car is at least a year old now.
From a distance it looks extremely glossy and shiny. But once we paid more attention to the details…
The car is washed and maintained by the maid/butler. Which sometimes, washing becomes such a boring thing for them, hence they miss spots.
From our observation, we could see alot of watermark stains all over, even the chrome was stained.
Either the maid/butler didn’t dry the car after washing or it was the rich minerals from Ipoh’s waters.
But either way, everywhere was covered in heavy watermark stains.
Some were just spots like dalmatians.
Some were in patches.
These patches are usually found at areas which rain waters are usually trapped in and dried naturally.
For a 1 year old car, I wouldn’t be surprised that areas like this are neglected.
Its covered in dirt and sand.
As we came to evaluate the paint, we found light swirls from washing. At least we know that the maid/butler are using proper washing equipments.
Our LED lighting visibly shows us some minor swirls as well.
Some areas were slightly lighter in swirls as well.
Finally, the once chrome exhaust tips were fully oxidized.
The first step of every correction stage, would be the washing. Areas like this are never missed out.
After that, we polished the paint to remove the swirls. Here is the results after 1 pass.
and the final pass. PS: Its a sun shot just in case you didn’t notice.
Under the LED, swirls were removed.
A closer look on a different section.
Not forgetting the chrome exhaust tips. Now that’s what we call “Bling”
The car now is coating worthy. Read on as we proceed to the coating.
The wheels did look good when we first did our standard walk around.
As we looked closer, we found some very poor washing.
It was almost as if the maid/butler just washed the car for the sake of washing.
Lug nuts areas are usually dirty but we wouldn’t blame anyone for that since not everyone has the proper tools.
After much detailing to the wheels.
Lug nut areas are like new!
All edges are cleaned and removed of the stains,
The cleaned wheel.
The hours of works definitely was not short, but it was all worth while when these results pop out after we applied the Opti Coatâ„¢ Pro.
We have with us a quite aged BMW E60 5 series with us today. Being a car of at least 5 years old. It had never been detailed, never been waxed and always driven as it is. Due to some special arrangements, the owner sent the car over to us for 2 days. Read on and find out what we did.
Upon arrival, we had to let the car cool down from a 30minute drive. But this is what we found during out initial inspection.
Close up, we saw that the car had severe watermark issues.
Some deep scratches were very visible.
Some finer scratch were also spotted on the hood.
As we discovered more hidden treasures. More watermarks were spotted.
Time for some proper LED lights. The watermark is visibly stained and swirls are visible.
Another area shared the similar fate.
Side door panels had lesser watermark issues but was full of swirls.
Due to its severity, we check every single square inch of the car.
As for the headlights, it was not very visible from a distance but when we looked closer, the lens was yellowish.
Edges of the headlight had started to oxidize. In no time, the headlight will become fully yellow and hazy
After we determined the level of damage on the car, we started with cleaning stubborn stains. This area is always a neglected part.
We removed the number plates and clean the plate holders.
After washing the car, we used some clay lube and clayed the car. This was just from a quarter of the door.
We utilized the Rupes Correction System for this paint. Did some test panels to find the perfect combo.
After we got the combination of pads and polish, this was the outcome.
Swirls were mostly removed.
Although the remaining deep scratches was no longer visible, there were still some leftovers.
Overall, we were able to restore the shine.
Coming to the headlights. We spend a few hours sanding the headlights down, removing all yellowish oxidation.
Finally, Correcting the headlights, restoring its clarity.
As for the wheels, it was 5 years old, not properly cleaned.
This brake dust level was just a week old, but the stains at the edges were way longer.
So, we decided to remove the wheels for better and easier access to the barrel.
We did some intense degreasing and decontamination here to get it to this state.
After that, we polished the face, removing oxidation and the stains on the edges.
Now the shine from these original wheels are restored.
There were a minimal amount of leftover stains that were stained for way too long.
Up to now, we had spent 13 hours on the cleaning, decontamination, stain removals, watermark removals, and paint correction.
The next day, we started work on the interior. This is how the interior looked before. From a distance, you still see a cream coloured interior.
The steering looked “normal” to most car owners.
But when we looked closer. Stains are obvious.
As we observe the leather closer, it doesn’t look very cream colour anymore.
At this point, we did some testing on the cleaner’s dilution ratio.
We usually use a 1:9 ratio for normal leather cleaning but this way a special case. Intensiveness had to be increased.
Here is a 50/50 from our testing on the arm rest.
50/50 on the driver’s seat.
A closer look on the stains on the passenger seat.
And a 50/50 comparison of the true colour.
Here is a 50/50 of the back seat.
After cleaning all the seats, we moved on to the steering. Here is a 50/50 comparison on the steering. On the left, it is stained and greasy, hence the shiny outlook. On the right, its natural matte finish.
This is the leather’s texture before cleaning.
This is the leather’s texture after cleaning.
Finally, after 6hours, we completed the interior cleaning and restoration.
As the LSP (Last Step Product) We applied Mother’s Leather Conditioner for its natural soft touch, matte finish, and butterscotch scent
The entire process took 19hours seperated into 2 days. When the owner came over to collect the car, there were just many Thank You and smiles. Enjoy.
