We have with us today a very uniquely colour Range Rover Evoque. Being a 3 year old car, the owner finally decided that she needs some restoration work done to the paint. Opting for the Opti-Coat™Pro was his choice even before he called us. So we are here after a 5minute conversation on the phone. Check it out!

Upon arrival, the car seemed to be in a rather glossy and clean condition, but as we always say, looks can be deceiving.
2016-10-16-10-54-43
As we did our walk around, the first thing that caught our eyes was the severely scratched up side pillars.
2016-10-16-10-55-28
Then we noticed some calcium build up on the paint. We suspect the car is mostly parked outdoors in the rain.
2016-10-16-10-55-49
And we were right, see the extreme watermark build up.
2016-10-16-10-58-28
The front grills had more calcium build up and faded plastic as well.
2016-10-16-10-58-41
Of course the glass was affected as well.
2016-10-16-10-59-17
As we pop the fuel cover, shocked was the only word we can describe what we saw.
2016-10-16-10-56-14
This is how dirty this area can get when neglected.
2016-10-16-10-56-17
Because we noticed some cat cages, so we expected some cat scratches around the car.
2016-10-16-11-02-29
More cat scratches.
2016-10-16-11-02-50
Side pillar’s damage when under LED.
2016-10-16-11-00-57
View from a distance. Looks quite bad.
2016-10-16-17-38-56
Moving on to the paint condition, under the LED check light, swirls can be seen everywhere.
2016-10-16-11-02-22
Some areas were more severe, some areas had light swirls. This photo shows some random scratches as well.
2016-10-16-11-02-38
Light swirls spotted.
2016-10-16-11-02-46
Some even lighter swirls on the side panels.
2016-10-16-11-02-58

We gave the car a very through cleaning and washing, removing a heavy amount of dirt, road grime, tar spots and watermarks. This was how the clay bar looked like when we first started.
2016-10-16-11-48-01
This is how the clay bar looked like after 1 door. Get the picture of how dirty the car is?
2016-10-16-11-47-56
After cleaning, we immediately started with the paint restoration. This is the side plastics after restoration, notice there are still some light watermarks. This shows that the watermark contamination is rather severe and deeply etched.
2016-10-16-11-03-16
We first tackled the cat scratches.
2016-10-16-17-35-29
Cat scratch before.
2016-10-16-17-35-36
Cat scratch after.
2016-10-16-17-37-13
Under LED check light after restoring the cat scratch. Pardon the polish oil smudge.
2016-10-16-17-37-32
We continued the paint correction and restored most of the surfaces. Again, pardon the oil smudge that affect the lighting.
2016-10-16-17-37-24
Other panels that we had restored.
2016-10-16-14-20-51
Visibly no longer any swirls on the surface.
2016-10-16-14-21-02
Remember the plastic panel that still had a little remaining watermark stains?
2016-10-16-17-58-23
This is after restoration.
2016-10-16-18-01-09
Since we are so hardcore at the restoration, we were stroked not to clean up the engine as well. Before cleaning.
2016-10-22-11-00-15
Close up on the dirty engine bay.
2016-10-22-11-00-22
Prior any cleaning.
2016-10-22-10-59-51
After cleaning. Impressed?

The car actually took us more than a day to complete but the shine it produces is way beyond photos. We were only able to capture this much, but in real life, the car looks jaw dropping glossy. Check out the final finishing after Opti-Coat™Pro.

We travel our way to Penang Island for this sweet ride over the weekend. Brand new and fresh from the oven, the owner couldn’t wait to get it fully protected. Unfortunately, the surface condition was not as “New” as he expected. Read on and find out how bad it is.

Upon arrival, the routine walk around inspection was done, overall the car just looks dirty and needed a wash. But that’s the thing with white colour cars.
2016-09-24-10-25-07
The surface was covered in rain stains, dust and sand.
2016-09-24-10-26-54
The typical road grime after a week of driving.
2016-09-24-10-27-06
We also found some light watermark issues on the paint surface.
2016-09-24-10-26-15
One of the panel was exposed to the sun, we found severe hologram issues on the paint.
2016-09-24-11-44-04
Next we moved to another panel with the LED Check Light
2016-09-24-11-44-44
More hologram found on other sections.
2016-09-24-11-45-56
These poor post delivery is destroying car paints from the dealership.
2016-09-24-11-46-07
some areas had lighter holograms.
2016-09-24-11-46-42 2016-09-24-11-46-51
We found a tree sap stain that was bonded to the paint as well. This is why we recommend our clients to avoid parking under a tree.
2016-09-24-12-35-45

Moving to the paint correction, we did a detailed wash for the car. Areas like these were not spared.
2016-09-24-10-36-23
Moving to the paint correction, Hologram damage before.
2016-09-24-12-19-03
Hologram damage after.
2016-09-24-12-20-32
Hologram damage before. (Notice a yellowish spot, that is another tree sap stain)
2016-09-24-12-20-46
Hologram damage after. We tried to remove the tree sap stain as well but only managed to reduce it.
2016-09-24-12-33-59
Paint restored to damage free condition.
2016-09-24-12-34-11
The paint is near flawless after the paint correction stage, its ready to be coated now.

After about 6hours of restoration and cleaning, our finally applied the Opti-Coat™Pro to the paint. Check out how it turns out.

We had always believe that by maintain our finishing standards, our Zero Compromising Policy, we had nothing to fear. But this time round, we were scared shitless. We received a request from this client that had his car worked on by a well known detailing, so well know that the company is in many famous automotive forums. zerotohundred, lowyat, bmw owner forums and many more. We were scared shitless when we were appointed to work on a car that had undergone his so called “god hands” We were once mislead by his gospel and worshiped his Godlike skills like many other disciples. The tension is ON! Stress Level is high! Like he always say “Show me your work” Now we show you ours.

No bullshitting on how the car looks upon arrival, we go straight to how the paint looks. The car had been worked on just recently as the owner mentioned. I am not surprised that there is some small amount of scratches around since its a daily driven car.
2016-10-29-11-44-30
What we would not stand was this. Upon putting the car right under the sun, we saw an entire section affected by hologram damage.
2016-10-29-11-54-09
Holograms are the basic damage to remove for any detailer, not mentioned its a “Master” of Detailers? You be the judge.
2016-10-29-11-54-24
As a professional, we could not tolerate slacking on the work to this level and still having the client pay for it. We DO NOT slack, we DO NOT compromise. We briefed the client about the condition on the paint and how we are going to deal with it. The client’s expression was disappointment on the previous “Detailer”. We moved on to fixing the damage.

Hologram from “Master” Detailer. Before.
2016-10-29-11-54-24
Easily fixed by a REAL Professional.

Deep scratch after.
2016-10-29-11-44-34
We proceed to polishing and finishing the “unfinished” work from previous hands.

The leather was a mess and we as professional could not let it go by. We gave the leather a clean up and leather conditioning after. Check out the Before (Left) and After (Right)

We are not pointing fingers at the skill level, but the basic fundamentals of detailing is to produce quality finishing. It may not be possible to produce a flawless finish every time but we try. Holograms on a finished car is a sign of not even trying. Finally, we coated the car with our in-house Glass Coating due to budget restrains on the owner. If only he had approached us earlier and not WASTED his money on a “Master” detailer, he might have applied Opti-Coat™Pro instead. Not wasting further time, check out the results. Taken all with just a phone camera, unedited, raw and real.
